Aquatic Environmental Management


Division of Aquatic Environmental Management (AEM) was established in 2005, however, division started working independently in May, 2015 to coordinate, conduct and facilitate teaching, research and extension education on freshwater ecosystems of Kashmir and Ladakh.

AEM Division focuses on freshwaters of the Kashmir and Ladakh, including the Lakes, Wetlands and rivers. Moreover, division of AEM research portfolio addresses significant applied questions about fisheries, invasive species, climate change, pollutants, toxicants, harmful algal blooms, and other societally-relevant issues related to freshwater. Our work can be of interest to decision makers, mission agencies and the general public.
