Livestock Production and Management


Division of Livestock Production and Management was established in April 2001, when the reorganization of Veterinary Faculty was done. Livestock Production and Management (LPM) is the core subject of B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree wherein Animal husbandry is half of the degree programme. LPM gives due weightage to all the aspects of Livestock production and management required for the development of entrepreneurship and managerial skills that can make future veterinarians as job providers rather than job seekers. The faculty of LPM is engaged in teaching both at UG and PG levels. The faculty of LPM is also engaged in conducting research in the front line areas of all applied aspects of livestock production and has been successful in evolving many transferable technologies and package of practice on the routine care and management of livestock.
