One of the mandate of the University is to provide teaching facilities in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary Sciences, Fisheries and other allied Sciences. The Directorate of Resident Instructions monitors all academic activities and ensures strict implementation of provisions of the University Regulations on Resident Instruction in the University. Similar to other State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), based upon Land Grant System, the University also follows course credit system of students education under bifurcation of annual academic session into two semesters. During semester breaks educational tours and field trainings are organized to expose students to different farming situations. The entire teaching spectrum is broadly divided into a number of courses offered by Divisions/Departments/Sections of studies in various disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Fisheries and allied sciences. under facilities. The Faculties are basic academic units responsible for formulation of academic programmes. The Faculties review teaching work and suggest improvements. Each Faculty has a Board of Studies. The Board of Studies proposes to the Faculty concerned, the courses of study curricula for various programmes of instruction offered by the Faculty concerned. Under Faculty Improvement Programme the teaching/scientific staff are free to interact with centers of national and international repute. Each Division/Department is a primary unit of education and administration and is entrusted to carry on programmes of teaching, research and extension education.
